Summary: stumbled upon on a Panama fishing charter. Peacock Bass in Gatun Lake spawn throughout the year laying sticky eggs in shallow still water on a hard substance such as a rock or submerged log. The Sargento is not normally cannibalistic and both parents guard the eggs and young until about 4 weeks old when the oscillated spot distinguishes itself at the base of the tail. Home
