Aluminium vs Fiberglass small fishing boats? Which is better for off-the-grid camping and fishing? I've been looking around for a small, 12-16' fishing boat to use for camping far up north. I've heard fiberglass breaks easily if we accidentally hit rocks or ground it onto a beach. Do they? Or should I shell out more for an aluminium boat? I'm trying to minimize maintenance as well so I can enjoy more time on the water.
Can I use a Car battery for my small fishing boat? I have a small 12 foot alum fishing boat with a small sonar and a 38# thrust trolling motor. I also have a 1yr old car battery (from a totalled car) available for use. I know the car battery isn't a marine battery and that there's a reason to use marine over auto batteries for boats, but I won't hurt anything by using the car battery in the boat, will I? (Other than shortening the eventual life of the car battery.)

Does anyone know if/how you can customize a small fishing boat? I want to get a 14' aluminum fishing boat. The problem is that most seem to have 3 bench style seats. I would like to remove these "benches" and put in a plywood floor, then mount seats on posts, add a livewell, and some other misc. bins. I have absolutely no Idea how or if this is even possible. I hope to build with composîte wood or another type, not sure, but will have ribs on the inside of the boat.I think these are called chines. Anyway I want this boat to be lightweight enough to take off the back of a truck without too much trouble and then put into the water.I would like to use a small motor on this boat as well. She told me that that woman was the fish she had caught. I was instantly afraid of her, since the fish had been very big and scary, but she smiled at me and was surprisingly pleasant. The reason I specified that I am heterosexual was exactly to prevent people from analyzing things from a sexual perspective as it seems to be the tendency. I am a spiritual person and I doubt this dream refers to catholicism. I don't think the color red means all that much to be honest, as it happens to be one of my favorite colors- I also said reddish, with an orange tint to be exact. As for the scary sharp teeth on the fish, it struck me as odd that such a big fish was in such shallow waters, and the woman's calmness in picking it up with her bare hands was both shocking and reassuring (as I believe Garden Witch captured). 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke on a 14' fishing boat. Wondering if 15 or 18hp 4 stroke will be enough? Hello I've spent plenty of time with 2 stroke outboards and know what kind of thrust I'm going to get for the hp. I bought a little 14' aluminum boat with a max 67” beam and put a little late model 8 hp 2 stroke Merc I had on it that I had been on a smaller boat. It does ok and can plane with just me in the boat, and sometimes even with a second person, but doesn’t have the top end speeds I’d like. I had 3 guys out fishing and it was a dog. I know a 15 hp 2 stroke would do fine but have heard that the new 4 strokes don’t have the torque. I’m thinking about getting a 15 or 18 hp (Merc or Nissan) 4 stroke. But don’t want to be disappointed when I have 750 pounds of guys and gear onboard. Any one have any experience with this size 2 and 4 stroke or have any suggestions. Thanks bw

How Fast would a fly have to fly to stay aboard a boat? Hey people. Here's somthing that ive always wondered lol. Now you have a boat with an open cabin space...Eg a small fishing boat. Pretend you were travelling along a river at 5 knots and a fly was in the boat...if it wanted to fly to the front of the boat would it have to fly at 6 knot's to make it to the front of the boat. Can anyone please identify the artist and/or title of this signed lithograph ? I purchased a lithograph issued by The Collector's Guild Ltd. It has the Authentication from "Societe de Verification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris" with embossed stamp.Watercolor, mostly blue-greens and browns. Subject is a harbor in France containing what looks like small fishing boats. In background, buildings are labeled Le Bateau and another is Hotel de France. It is signed and states it is # 66 of 275. However, I can't make out the signature. Thank you in advance for any leads! =o) BTW - The answer is Daniel Louradour. Not bad for a $5.00 thrift store purchase yesterday! =oD
