Inflatable Fishing Boats Knowledge Base
Does anyone know of a UK retailer for inflatable pontoon fishing boats? I've seen a lot of these dual-hulled inflatable pontoon boats used in America for fly fishing and i'm interested in getting one for my father's birthday. They're also know as catarafts i think or as a variation of float tubes. They have two inflatable bladders with a seat suspended between and a bar to rest your feet on and they make great inflatable fishing boats. I can see plenty for sale in the US but none in the UK. Are there any businesses out there shipping these to the UK?
Is an INFLATABLE FISHING BOAT a good idea for just fishing in rivers and lakes? My brother and I are thinking about buying an inflatable fishing boat for rivers and lakes. Is it a good investment? We like the idea of the inflatable because it's simple and doesnt take up space. Also, do you know anywhere where I can get a good reliable and relatively cheap inflatable fishing boat? I want to spend no more than a grand. Thanks guys!

Inflatable raft/kayak/canoe for fishing. What is the best choice? I am looking for an inflatable kayak/canoe/raft to use for fishing local rivers and lakes. I don't have enough space for a hardshell, so I've been looking for inflatable dinghy type boats, but one that is elongated so I can paddle alone or with someone. Also, I want hard seats to sit on. I found a Saturn prototype on ebay, but have been unable to find a similar model. Price limit = $350. Help.
What is your ideal fishing boat? What makes it so special? Is it a $300,000 blue water boat, an inflatable boat, or something in between. Mine is a 14' jon boat with 15hp Johnson outboard and a Minn Kota bow mount trolling motor. I have caught so many bass from this rig in area lakes and ponds. It's as close to perfect as I could wish for.
Any opinion on Coleman Inflatable boats for still water? In particular, I'm looking at Coleman Colossus 3-person boat (we're two adults + 1 child who is currently 4). Even the retail seems too low ($60). Anyone own this? Any opinions? I'm looking to take this out on lakes in Western Maryland for cruising and maybe fishing (although we've never fished before, and not sure if we'll do it). Are there regulations for (against) inflatable boats in state parks (and such)?
fishing boat question? My friend and i are considering buying a boat to go fishing in waters near our houses in new york. (mostly calm water) We are not sure what kind of boat to get. Keep in mind we are only teenagers with limited money looking to spend no more than $350. i know sports authority has a canoe for this price but am not sure if this would be ideal for fishing. There are also numerous "inflatable boats". Now i dont know if i should trust this because of the fear that it may pop. Any good cheap boats that you guys are aware of? What kind of boat should we pursue?

what is a good boat for scuba diving? I'm thinking about starting a charter for scuba and snorkeling, but i'm looking for a boat that is easy to get on and off of from the water. I don't want an inflatable and most fishing boats seem to have tiny ladders. HELP!
I need technical help with my inflatable boat? I have recently acquired a second hand Aquapro SLR inflatable (2 meters from transom to outside the bow) and want to use it in the estuaries to fish and get mud crabs. It has no engine and I would appreciate it if you could advise me on what type of electric motor I should use and size. Also, due to the size, I believe there is now a flat gel type battery similar to a petrol "bag". As I am a pensioner I would prefer second hand if you do have something, or if that's not the way to go, then what petrol engine would be best? I am also looking for used/new Aquapro parts: 3 x hand grips 1 x complete housing for the oar 1 x " oar strap 2 x oars Thanks to anyone who can help.
How come we never see these stories in the liberal media? You really think the media is not liberal biased? ABOARD USS RAVEN, At Sea - U.S. Navy mine hunter USS Raven (MHC 61) provided emergency medical assistance to an Iranian-flagged fishing dhow that requested assistance for an injured crew member. While conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the Arabian Gulf, Sept. 13, the dhow altered its course and headed toward Raven’s vicinity. Raven crew members noticed the dhow’s crew was topside frantically trying to signal the ship. A Raven crew member reported that a fisherman was waving a T-shirt and another was cradling an unconscious man in his arms. “To see the dhow alter its course in order to try and intercept our ship made me a little apprehensive,” said Lt. Cmdr. Todd Braynard, Raven’s commanding officer. “But once I got to the bridge and saw them waving and carrying the injured crewman up from below decks, I realized they really needed our assistance.” Raven dispatched a boarding team that included Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Amanda Powell, the ships’ independent duty corpsman (IDC). They arrived at the dhow via Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) and were led aboard by the boarding officer, Ensign Andrew Serfass. Although she was unsure what to expect aboard the vessel, Powell said she felt an urgency to help. “I was fairly apprehensive about boarding the Iranian vessel,” she said. “But the need to help far outweighed the apprehension I felt.” Once aboard, Powell diagnosed the unconscious fisherman with a severe case of dehydration and reported that his kidneys were possibly to the point of failure. The corpsman quickly administered an IV of saline. Shortly there after, the fisherman regained consciousness and eventually sat up and drank water on his own. “Bottom line, my independent duty corpsman saved the crewman’s life,” said Braynard. “A few more hours and his kidneys would have shut down.” While aboard, the IDC also noticed that several of the crew members were suffering from various maladies including abrasions on their arms and legs and another complained of a headache. The corpsman applied iodine to the wounds and wrapped them with bandages. She also provided aspirin to help with the headache. “Once the crew saw that I was there to help, they were very receptive to my aid,” said Powell. The IDC also noticed that the dhow’s other eight crew members were in various stages of dehydration. Additionally, the boarding officer reported that the dhow was critically low in potable water, and the ship’s master stated that the vessel was still several days away from port. To assist, Raven transferred 200 gallons of potable water to the dhow’s tanks and provided 10 cases of bottled water. The crew members were very cooperative and extremely appreciative of the assistance. The dhow’s master even offered the boarding officer two large mackerel as a gift for the much-needed help. “You never grow tired of doing this part of the job; helping people who really need it,” said Braynard. “Helping people who need it, regardless of nationality or political differences, it makes our crew feel good about the job they did today.” Powell agrees with that sentiment. “It makes me feel very good to help someone and even possibly save their life,” she said. “This is what I’m trained for and it feels good to be able to use that training to help others.” Raven, an Osprey-class coastal mine hunter, is forward deployed to Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain and conducts MSO as part of Commander, Task Force (CTF) 55. MSO help set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment, as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. These operations deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material. OK this story wasn't even on conservative FOX News. I got it through a well respected milblogger who got it direct from NAVCENT. To my knowledge this hasn't yet been run by Any media. FURTHER UPDATE FOR THOSE SAYING "NOT NEWSWORTHY": Under ordinary circumstances Yes I see what you are saying. Prior to Desert Storm and between Desert Storm and The 2003 invasion. yes. this is just routine, Sailors doing their jobs and all that. But with all the ANTI MILITARY and ANTI ADMINISTRATION reports going on, with all the media refering to our Marines and murderer and America as the real terrorists. and we are there as occcucpiers. etc.. it is THESE stories that are the counterpoint. the truth to their lies. yet they aren't "newsworthy"?!?! of course they arent newsworthy, how dare they actually show our men and women actually doing something GOOD instead of trying ALL of them in the court of public opinion on things like Haditha and Abu Grhaib.
Who here fishes out of a boat? Don't care if it is a inflatable raft, to a cabin cruiser. Just wondering who fishes out of a boat. Mine is a '04 Triton powered by a 200 Optimax Have had my rig in as little as 1.5 ft of water. I am also looking to buy a john boat for a couple of the local rivers around here. Stop I hear you and agree 100 % This is my 6th and final boat, and was a retirement present from my wife.
What should I do about my husband's crazy family? Does anyone on here know what it's like to have a disfunctional family? We just came back from vacation on a ranch. ATV ridin' , horseback ridin', fishing...it was fun, besides my husband's sister and his mom arguing like literally every 3 seconds. They are also very controlling. My mother-in-law did not ask if she could use my baby's inflatable pool for her 8 yr old, he was too big for it anyways and when i questioned her about it she started cussing and yelling to her son to get out of the d@m% pool. They are so crazy, when my husband and I were coming back to the dock from fishing in the pond, i was trying to tie the rope on the dock to hold the boat in place, and my sister-in-law was like LET IT GO, GIVE IT TO ME! And just took the rope from me. I talked to my husand about it and he was like "If she wasn'ts to tie the rope just let her, it is no big deal anyways, just ignore her." I have tried to ignore their ways for two years n I'm getting sick and tired of them acting that way. My mom says I should stay away from them bc it is not good for my 9mth old baby to be around them. They are always yelling and cussing and having attitudes and trying to order people around. My husband seems to just think I can look over this all of the time but I do not want my baby growing up around a disfuntional family. What should I do? Does anyone else have the same problem? How do you handle it?
