fly fishing? My B-I-L invited me to go fly fishing with him. Now i don't claim to be the best outdoorsman, but i have been steelhead fishing, bass fishing, and crappie fishing, but this one has me puzzled...... how exactly does one "fish" for "flies"? and how much meat could you possibly get off of a fly anyway? is my brother in law delusional? can anyone reccomend a good shrink?

Fly fishing? I just got back from a fly fishing trip. We Fished for trout. I caught about 10 my largest being about 18in. I caught all but one on nymphs. I could put almost any nymph it the water and the fish would all have intrest in it and most the time I would have a bite in less than 2-3 min. Then the fish would pay no attention to the nymph. But as soon as I tied another nymph on they chased it again. So I was wondering if the fish started to under stand that it was fake or what. I don't think it was the line because I used 2lb fluocarbon tippet.

Fly fishing? my uncle gave me a kit and i just started fly fishing. ive heard people talking about stuff like 8 weights and 11 weights and stuff and i dont understand wat this means. mine is a 5 weight and is 8 ft long. the line and backing came w/ it so i assume it works w/ that size pole im pretty sure that i could handle a bass on this but could i use this in salt water for, say snook, redfish, seatrout?

Fly fishing? I bought this new fly line a few days ago to replace some cheeper line I got with the pole. The new line is White River Fly Shop™ CV2® Fly Line from Bass Pro http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_25195_175003001_175000000_175003000_175-3-1. It's 2x as light as my other line and half the diamiter and its tappered. I made sure its the same weight as my other line and my pole wich is 5wt. I'm having a much harder time casting the new line compared to the old line. I am thinking I need to break it in. What do you think the problem is?

I have a 5 piece 8' 6'' #5 graphite White River Indian Point combo it came with a rod, reel ,line leader, and case. It cost about $100. I was considering upgrading my line and mabey my rod soon. But before I even think about that I want to know what am I going to get out of a $100 rod compared to one I have now and compared to one of those $350+ dollar ones. And compared to a reel I have now or a much more expensive ones like $250. And the line should probley be a diffrent question all together but I was thinking this is probley the most important part of the rod setup so could I get some advice on the line. So basically I was wonder What I will get out a rod that cost just as much as a whole set of things just like mine. And I relly don't see the between the two besides a few things like flexability length weight, and most importantly the price.

I'm asking this because one side starts to grow larger almost Immediately and the other end dose not change its diamiter for quite some time if that makes any since. Yes it is double tappered.

Fly fishing-How do I land more fish? When I go fly fishing, I get fish to bite all of the time. (I usually go nymphing.) I am new to fly fishing and I only land one out of every twenty fish that take my fly at best. I am probably setting the hook the wrong way. How do I land more fish that take my flies?

Fly Fishing Texas Coast, especially for red drum? Recently, my travels find me in Houston, Texas. I am a beginner when it comes to fly fishing in saltwater and Christmas Bay was mentioned as a good place to start and an easy place to hook some red drum (by easy, I am not sure if the person meant better odds or guaranteed, but my guess is not the latter). Can anyone give me any advice on fly fishing for red drum; particularly in relation to local fly’s that have proven successful as well as locations? Really, any advice would be greatly appreciated when it comes to fly fishing the Texas coast in general. I plan to start with red drum, but would love to progress from there. Also, I feel it is vitally important that I inform you that I practice CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY. HELP through the BS and PR of Fly Fishing? So many kinds of pole, rods, system..... how dose anyone know what is best for their style of FLY FISHING?? What is the ultimate fly fishing book? The last two years Ive got into fly fishing. What I am looking for now is a fly fishing book that will help me fish the proper fly for the time of season with retrieving tips etc. I mostly fish scottish loch and dams with stocked rainbow and brownies in the hope of moving onto sea trout fishing and salmon if I get good at this. Fly fishing in or near Edinburgh, during February.? I will be fishing for Bass and there maybe some 4+ lb fish I may catch. The leader seems awfully small at the end. I need Fly fishing help!? I just got a fly rod from my wife for our anniversary, and I know nothing about flyfishing(or spin casting for that matter). The kit I got says it has everything I need to hit the water today. But I have to tie all the lines together, and to the reel. I'm not scared of knots, but don't know which of them to use. Any Good Fly Fishing in Germany or Other European Countries? I am from the United States and will be moving to Germany for 5 months, in late October. Fly Fishing Poppers? I manufacture Balsa Wood Fly fishing Poppers and Blanks. These are just as durable if not more than foam. Coast effective compared to foam and more enviornmentally sound than foam. I have sent letters, samples and e-mails to fishing companies, stores and dealers with no sucess in selling my product.
