fly fishing?

my flies keep coming undone whenever i get my tackle wet,any suggestions?

  2. If you're not tieing your own flies, try getting them from another shop. Some people just tie better flies. If you're tieing your own flies, make sure you're tieing off correctly, and that your keeping the hackle and dubbing "tight"
  3. sounds like you need a better grade of fly.
  4. If you're tying your own, there is cement you can apply when finishing, and even tying down hackle. If your buying the 98 cent bulks from K -Mart, you should try buying the two dollar flies tied at your local Mom and Pop fly shop instead. You will actually save $ on flies, and pick up a lot of great advice and info in the bargain.
  5. Theres a few right answers to this, and everyone here has told you them, but you may need to also look at your technique.
  6. a small drop of a rubber based head cement will do the trick. it's inexpensive at any fly-shop. if you are tying yourself you may not have the technique for the whip finish knot down right. the most common reason i have found that flies come apart is when they unravel from the head.
