Fly fishing question(s)?
I am going to start fly fishing. I have never done it before. I have a friend who is going to teach me. But does any one know of any good spots, inshore (not on a boat) in Dunedin Florida? And what type of fly's to use. I am going to go for red fish a lot so keep that in mind. Also what do you think is better fly fishing or spin cast reels? Personally? Thanks a lot, Fishingidiot -http://www.Fishingidiots.com- I am also wondering can I just go to Honeymoon Island and fly fish there? Or lake Tarpon. And if you know any good places I will take any suggestions thanks a lot! Remember I don't have a boat so I am going to shore fish. And if you know any bait shops where you can buy fly's I will take that also.

- ok i will try to help you if i can so here we go is your friend supplying you with a fly rod and reel or do you need one? if you need one then i would go for a AFTM of 7 as tahst perfect for beginners like you also you will need a fly reel any one will do its basically just to hold the line in your case you will need a wf7 floating line too aswell as may be an intermediate line of the same weight now when it comes to flies its not so easy to help because almost all waters fish different to others so its no easy task. Your buddy should be able to loan you the most effective fly aslo you are fishing fresh water arent you not salt water because the rod weight and line size would have go go up alot if you do want to buy some flies buy them off the internet as they are cheaper i havent explained it all but this should top it off http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&&mode=category&cat=Fishing&subcatID=28&cmid=OLSUBCATEGORY_28_28_FISHING also you mention reels the two you have mentioned serve different purposes the fly reel holds the line and has a drag that allows fish to move when you become more experienced and a spin cast reel is used on a totally different rod and different situation but i like a fly reel mainly because i am a fly fisherman.
- I LOVE FLY FISHING It takes PRACTICE, PATIENCE, COMPOSURE for when things go wrong. It is work. To be honest it is work and you most likely will not catch as many fish. Also you have to understand the technology since different fish require different flies and equipment. You most likely wont be able to double haul a saltwater fly as a beginner.
