Fly fishing in or near Edinburgh, during February.?
I am intending to travel to Edinburgh during the next half-term school holiday, and want to take one day out of the itinery to go fly fishing for trout of salmon. I know that February is not part of the fishing season, but want to know if anyone knows where I could fish anyway. I'd love to fish for wild fish, but stocked impoundments would do. Any suggestions? I need locations, and any information about permits/licenses etc. Thanks

- If you wish to fish for trout in Scotland before the 15th of March then they will have to be rainbow trout (stocked fish). On certain rivers the season for Salmon is already open. Try this link....http://www.fishscotland.co.uk/ P.s the best thing to do would be to go to a rainbow trout fishery. Here you will have the best chance of catching a fish and tackle hire and instruction may be available...gino
