Can someone tell me how to make fishing boats and offshore platforms in Civilizaiton IV?
How do you get the damn work boates to do anything? I have tried F ket and O key but they dont sem to work

- Click on the boat and have it run autonomously, kind of like you do with workers who build improvements on their own.
- First, you need a resource for the work boat to work, either Fish, Clams, Crabs, Whales, or Oil. Fish, Clams, and Crabs additionally need Fishing to be worked; Whales need Optics; and Oil requires Plastics. Then you simply send the work boat to the square with the resource and click the button that makes it improve the resource. Lastly, the resource needs to be within your cultural borders. Very simple. I don't see why you'd bother with hot-keys, this a turn-based game, kick back, relax, you have all the time in the world.
