Fly Fishing Waterway Access Points in Unfamiliar and Remote Areas...?
For anyone who has gone fly fishing in the amazing Rocky Mountains knows how frustrating it can be to FIND a place to get into the water from the roads. I am working on Access Point (AP) maps for popular waterways beginning in the North Idaho region. I will also be accepting clients whom have needs/requests about specific stretches of water and will build him/her detailed and individual packages. General packages may include: Marked AP’s, AP’s span, difficulty traversing AP, FISHABLE stretch of water reached by AP, any equipment needed or vehicles able to negotiate AP (ATV, 4x4, etc.), F&G regs, water speed, popularity and parking options for AP. Client requested packages could also include GPS coordinates for waypoints, camping areas, entomology/flies used, water depth, foliage, pics of AP and any other special requests. My question is: If this service and info was available for your use; would it be worth paying for and how valuable would you consider it being? I asked this late last night, but wanted to submit in a higher traffic time. I will work on keeping my public relations with the local F&G Dept and the Outfitters. Since I am an infosource I will not outfit clients with gear, rides, licenses and will not escort or guide any client. It will be strictly an information service.

- Most of what a guide does is provide information. Information on equipment,hatches,access points etc. What you are talking about is a written guide to specific stretches of water, regions, etc. There are a series of books that are called Fly Fishing Colorado, AZ, Southern Baja etc. etc.. These books sell for $15 to $20 . These books only list about 20 locations each. Depending on the amount and quality of the information you could probably get well over $100 if they are detailed enough.
