What type of ships were used for deep sea fishing in the late 17th century (or around this time)?

I have to write a story about this type of thing and I've been having troubles finding any information. I'm not stupid, obviously it had to be the wooden sailing type, but all the sites have all this info on all different type sof ships but they don't say what they were used for (apart formt he war ones). Apart from it being wooden and with sails, what about structure, length, etc?
