I was just wondering what bass fishing or catching a fish means to you. Thanks

- Just peace and quiet, a little fun with friends.
- Catching a fish to me is a rewarding, peaceful experience. It reminds me of going fishing with my family and is just a break from the world.
- It's a link. Not only to the survival skills of our ancestors, but to family and friends. I can't fish without thinking of my grandfather and how much it "looks like it's going to rain" even if it doesn't... now that I have his old tacklebox and some of his tackle, even more so. My first memorable experience with a wild alligator, fishing with my father and nearly stepping on about a five footer that must have been asleep when I walked down to the water. Coming home from my first deep-sea trip having caught the biggest fish of the trip and I forget how many mahi. My first catch ever... nasty ol' indian river saltwater yucko catfish... This all just goes on and on, every year more memories, and always a connection to Divinity and nature and a reminder (even on the days that nothing tasty gets caught) that even though food is convienient, the best food still comes from good ol' momma nature, and there's nothing like realizing "somethings going on here..." when your bait bucket for the first time ever kinda turns your stomach, which leads into another fishing trip, but that's a story for another question... hehe
- bass fishing is letting go of all your problems and becoming one with nature. theres also no better feeling than when a huge bass hits your lure and gives you the fight of your life.
- Catching a fish is a conection to nature. To me bass fishing is really relaxing. I don't really care if I catch anything at all. I always remember this famous quote; "There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. " By Steven Wright
- to me it means being able to pay bills. It's work to me because I own a 92ft sport fishing boat.
- I was wondering if you like to eat it,s called food. I like food do you.
- This question comes up a lot, huh? Fishing to me is a sport but also a meditative process and a relaxing pastime. What got me into fishing in the first place was the quiet, peaceful aspect to it. Once I started getting into catching bass I enjoyed scoping the waters looking for ripples on the surface or places of structure where they'd likely be hiding out. Putting the line in the water with the right lure and the right retrieve and getting that bite- its a great feeling. Fishing means a relaxing diversion from a stressful day spent with miserable people who are locked in their own personal hell. It means getting away from it all for a couple of hours in the evening or clearing my mind in the early mornings as the sun rises. I means peace and enjoyment to me. It is something I share with my kid, that we will have between us for the rest of our days. Fishing is a pastime in my life that is as important as mowing the lawn or taking a shower and as enjoyable as watching a good baseball or football game.
- To me fishing is an obsession, an illness if you like that many of us including me cant get rid of, one of the first things i actually started and enjoyed, i climbed when i was younger but as i got older went back to do even more fishing, i hunted which i still do and enjoy, its a way of life since i was very young and don't intend to change it. Catching a fish is a great experience, keeping just one for the table and releasing the rest is even better. The last great thing is the chance to spend you're hard earned cash on buying enough fishing tackle to re-stock cabelas 12 times over. Always go into cabelas and bass pro and come out with something fishing related. The great thing with fishing you can never have too much equipment.
- I think that it is that u fish on the knowledge of what u know and heard from other people
- Nice answer Gimme. Hope your feeling good? I feel somewhere between Gimme/Rez/Airflow's answers. There are many aspects to fishing that appeal to me. Sometimes it's the "puzzle" aspect, (What lure? Where to fish? What line? What Rod? What prt of the Lake? Etc). Sometimes it's the feeling you get when you reel in ANYTHING! (lol) Sometimes it's the relaxed, "focused" feeling I get, (I tend to "block" everything out when I'm fishing and just "soak up the environment"). I also like the feeling at "weigh-in" when you have NO idea who's gonna win! (lol) And like Gimme said, I'll recall cherished memory's that seem to only "trigger" when I've got a fishing rod in hand. Airflow, Rez, Gimme, GREAT ANSWERS! You receive a "standing ovation" from me!
- A lot of Fun and enjoyment
- Its almost like having sex. The best feeling in the world. Remember its not about how deep you fish, its how you wiggle your worm!
- fun...competition...love...passion...marvelous...adventurous
- Fishing for me, has become my life. I will be moving to Canada soon after the purchase of a fishing resort/camp. Something I have wanted to do after fishing for 27 years. Not necessarily in Canada. I was hoping for Florida. I love the bass fishing there. Particularly Okeechobee. But circumstances have offered an opportunity. I would be a fool to pass it up. So off to Canada I go. Tight lines.
