What are some items to include in a first aid kit to be kept on a small fishing boat (lake fishing, not ocean?

- The obvious stuff like gauze, tape, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment, cold compress, burn relief pack, sunscreen, and then you should always have flares, a whistle, and a fire extinguisher. It's certainly also a good idea to be able to communicate at any time with either a VHF radio or a cell phone that gets good service where you are.
- Make sure you have clean water or a way to make clean water
- Hello Brooke S. Check out these commercial safety kits http://www.outdoorsafety.net/humanusekits.htm Just run to target or wal mart then and get what they have in them in smaller quantities and put it in a tupperware or waterbottle. (something waterproof) You will also want to familiarize yourself with how to rescue someone who fell out of the boat, what to do for a fishing hook stuck in you, other common fishing injuries. Hope that helps
- Add some tweezers, a pockketknife, and a hook removal kit along with the basics. A whistle and flare can't hurt either.
- Link will give ya' the basic "Low~down", on what one should have for First Aid, which can be condensed, in say a pouch ;)...< ' (( ( > < http://www.nhoutdoors.com/first_aid_kit.htm Note: My opinion, enough, never seems ta' be enough when out on the water... Update: Great idea on packin' a whistle and or flare! Like I always say, "One finds somethin' new every day"...
- all great stuff. i keep a pair of wire cutters in my tackle box. if a hook is embedded or far enough through, cut the pointed end off rather than pulling it out. common sense but you would be surprised what people do when they panic. leave hooks near the eyes to the pro's, you can do more harm than good. one last thing, don't laugh until its over, it's not funny until it's funny.~~~*<>{
- Solarcaine for sunburn and other burn relief. Hand sanitizer. Ibuprophen. Tweezers. A lighter and a small pocketknife. Don't go for some one size fits all kit. Get a small to medium tackle box and fill it yourself.
- .22 rifle
- Besides bandages, antiseptic swabs, alcohol swabs and sting relief swabs, sunscreen, devices for signalling like a whistle or flare, maybe a waterproof flashlight, lipbalm, insect repellent.
