What is the best BOAT beer?
My wife is helping outfit a charter fishing party for work, and she ran into an interesting question...what is the best beer for an offshore fishing trip? Seems like the right beer must be in a can, should be able to drink all day, good on a queazy stomach, does NOT need fruit (due to the can), should be somewhat sophisticated (it is a 20k trip), obviously...tastes great... I could only really think of Amstel...which is lame.

- I'd go with a really light beer- just because you will be in the sun all day and heat and full feeling in the stomach do not go well together. I like that Labatt Blue- I think its Canadian. I also like the Michelob Ultra Amber light. In my old age (30, lol) I think that the heavier beers are best had one at a sitting. Have fun!
- miller lite or coors lite works the best..miller lite is actually lower in calories..also throw some wine coolers or tequiza's on ice for the ladies!
- Labatt Blue (lite or not), Molson, Moosehead, all come in a can.
- Surley Furious http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13014/28203 Sly Fox Pikeland Pils http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1853/8787 Stone Coast Sunsplash http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1922/33001 Butternuts Porkslap Pale http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13302/28751 Oskar Blue Gordon http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2681/8919 All regionally available and way better than Amstel or any other macro in a can. I've also heard that you can get select Brooklyn Brewing beers in a can although I've never seen/had them.
- Mexican beers are always good for beach/boats. I know Tecate comes in a can. Definitely stay light though. Could you imagine a belly full of Guinness and 8 hours of sun? Just don't mix.
