help me find some bass!?
alright, im spending a week here at Lake Lizzie florida, in this little community im staying in theres this great little lake that you can use to catch bass from the shore, no boat required.. past sunday i was able to catch 2 12inchers one on a blue worm, and the other on a green frog.. both were in the shallow near the brush, and around sunset the flies n bugs come out and the bass just go wild picking things off the top of the water (specially in the middle of the lake) but on tuesday a cold front came in along with some wind :/ so water got a little choppy and cooler so the bugs stoped coming out and i cant spot any bass splashing around... the water is pretty clear and very clean, looks like sand and drit bottom, brush all along the edges and the waters pretty deep in the middle. there a lot of bait fish swimming around, but the bass seems to feed on flies specially, but this dam cold front and wind stoped activity >< so where are the bass? o right, some tips on how to catch em will help to. im armed with a small white/silver spinner thats pretty heavy, a larger green, red, black, speckled, spinner with a gold and silver blades, and a small light weight green spinner with a silver blade, i also have blue glitterly worms 7.5inch, and red and black plastic worms 10inch, green and white frogs, some crawly looking thing, and what looks like a brown crawfish, and i also have a silver with blue trimmings fish with weights inside(thrown down wind this sucker goes FAR!), and a really small and really light little round black and green fish that can barely cast 5 feet without weight >< its also useually sunny during the days.. so i thought the spinners could immitate flies and bugs, but i never got a hit.. it was pretty late when i tried though. o and yesterday pretty late, i saw a bass leap outa the water to snag a fly that was probably 15 feet from the brush.. but it was the only one i saw all day help plz

- Fish deeper with purple worms and u should be OK
- I would fish deeper with Finesse worms (on a split shot rig or a drop shot)
- Heres the deal- the cold front knocked the bass fishing in the head-usually takes a good 2 to 3 days for them to get back to normal, but a few can still be caught by changing tactics- the fish move into deeper water and slow down on their feeding- go to soft plastics fished slower and deeper. as they start to get back to the bank, go with your small spinner baits and if you have them or can cast them the Zoom finesse worm fished without a weight, just a 3\0 hook is deadly-fish it very slow and retrieve it with soft twitches of your rod-just mentally picture the lure suspended a foot two under the surface and work it back to you. Another good bait is the senko or senko type baits- they are like worms but they are heavier and thicker much like a pencil but a little thicker. You fish it like a finesse worm but a little faster- fish will sometimes hit it on the fall This is rapidly becoming one of my best producing lures. I hope this helps, if not on this trip, perhaps the next one. Good luck and good fishing!
- Well, take some advice from a guy whose been bass fishing since he was 12. (Im 28 now) Cold fronts and bass don't mix. In fact, the day right before a cold front is usually the best time to fish. As the barometric pressure begins to drop, bass activate and feed heavily. But as soon as those baby-blue skies come along, start slowing down your presentation, cause those bass are lethargic. The frenzy is over at this point and very little interests them. I would not use topwaters at this point. Instead I would use a sinking leader with a very slow Texas rig presentation. Weedless is a must...and sometimes smaller baits are key. Thats about it. Cold fronts are awesome if you catch the day before. Once its over, the bass should start feeding again.
