In Florida, do you need a license to fish?
If you are 16 or younger, do you need one? And if so, where would you get it.

- yes most deff. if your huntuing crocs
- In a word - yes! A license is necessary now to fish in both saltwater and freshwater. It is illegal to fish or hunt without one, so be sure you see to it before you start out. The license must be carried with you at all times, along with your personal identification. The requirement and prices for fishing licenses vary from state to state, so you'll need to check with your County Council regarding details. In some states anyone under the age of 13 and over 65 doesn't need a license, while in others the minimum age is 17. In some cases, you still need to have the license but you don't need to pay a fee for it. It is possible to send away for a fishing license by mail, but you need to give a description of yourself, like hair and eye color. You can also download and print out the application for a fishing license, then all you need to do is pop it into the mail with your check.
- have a trusted adult ask people in a bar
- yes,wal mart, basspro
- If you're under 65. Over, it's free.
- Apparently you do need a license . Check your local sporting goods store, Wall- Mart or K-MART.
- Nope, anyone under that age does not need one (link). As for gettin' one after ya' turn 16 any Fishin' Tackle or Sports Store, as well as Walmart will have em". "Fish On" ;)... < ' ( (( > < Note: Scroll down page of link to "What does a youth need to do to fish legally?" http://floridafisheries.com/license.html Update: Here is the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commission) again, if ya' scroll down page it will give ya' fishin' license fees. Keep in mind though that state may change the co$t of one yearly, so best check it out when your goin' ta' need one... http://myfwc.com/license/
- Also, Florida residents who are: fishing in salt water from the shore or any structure permanently attached to the shoreline (bridges, docks, etc) or wadefishing in less than four feet of water Or fishing fresh water no reel, live bait from shoreline (canepoles, handlines) are not required to have a license. But remember, licensing fees help support conservation and research of our resources. Just because most of my fishing is salt water from shore doesn't mean I don't have my licenses up to date 99% of the time (it's about time to renew I believe) because you never know when you'll find yourself in fresh water or on a boat... better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it and have a fine.
- A license is not required for any age to fish salt water from land or from a structure attached to land or from a "for-hire" fishing boat. At 16 a license is required for fresh water and also when fishing from a private boat. Under 16 is free for all fishing, but you are still required to follow all fishing laws.
