what is Florida's main fresh water sport fishes other than bass and cats??

1. Crappie, of course. In SE Fl. there are the peacock bass, they get quite large. Alot of people target them. They are native to S and central Am. but alot less expensive to travel to Fl. to catch. Also all types of sunfish as well as ciclids and oscars in S Fl. They get well over a pound, put up a good fight and are quite tasty. Many people will fly fish for them. Many other exotics here but I wouldn't call them sport fish. Some salt water fish can be caught in fresh water, snook & tarpon, but they are considered salt water fish. Hope this helps a bit.
2. Crappie,bluegill,shellcracker,and numerous other sunfish are considered sportfish in Florida
3. Beside the main fish like bass and cats...that would be Crappie and Peacock Bass. Between the 2 they rake in millions in revenues annually for the state of Florida. People from all over this Great Country of ours visits Florida annually just for the Peacock Bass action which picks up around the summer time and the Crappie action around late winter (like we have a winter.) We are the only state that has Peacock Bass and the only place to catch them without having to travel to a foreign country. Soon it will be Barramundi ( which are found in Australia) but are stocked in a lake right outside of Disney World in Orlando. They look like Snook with snaggle teeth. Once that catches on, every one will flip over to those fish. For now it's crappie and peacocks. There's a great spot in the middle of the Miami speedway ( by reservation with the capt. who runs it) that you can catch huge Peacocks and watch the cars race by at the same time.
