  1. Crappie nipplets and dark jigs with red heads.
  2. I have uese worms and corn.
  3. Kentucky Lake holds a healthy population of bass and crappie, and fall fishing is gonna be exciting!! In my experience, the best live bait for crappie fishing is small minnows. I prefer shiners when they’re available, but fatheads will work almost as well. And, the livelier, the better, so try to keep them cool and aerated. Good sized crappie won't show much interest in chasing a dead minnow. Shiners in the 2"-3" range are ideal. Use the lightest line possible. I prefer about 6#, because you’re often fishing around brush piles and hangups are common. I like a #2 or #4 wide gap or Kahle hook for solid hooksets and fewer missed strikes. Best method is hooking the minnow in the tail, about 1/2" in from the end. This allows the minnow to swim like a crippled baitfish, which produces more bites. For starters, rig up using a small bobber and set the minnow about 3-4 feet below the bobber (unless fishing shallower water). Pinch a small split shot on your line about 10-12" above the hook to keep your minnow down to the depth you wish to fish. As you’re fishing, adjust the depth below your bobber until you hit fish. In some situations, if you’re finding fish in deeper water, you can use a slip bobber to get your minnow down to the depth the fish are schooling. Good luck!! Good fishin’.
  4. minnows. just use minnows with a bobber and bobber stopper so you can set the depth. ive caught more crappie on live bait then anything else
