Most Important Fishing Knots?
What are the most important knots used in fishing? What knots should every fisherman know how to tie?

- The most important knot, at least to me anyway, is the improved clinch knot. That is the knot I use to tie hooks on to the line. Probably 99.9% of the knots I tie are improved clinch knots. You can see how to tie one here: http://www.animatedknots.com/improvedclinch/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com Probably the only other knot I ever tie is a blood knot, and it's used to tie two pieces of line together. Except for tying fly line leaders, I hardly ever tie one. You can see it here: http://www.animatedknots.com/bloodknot/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com#Bachmann If you can tie these two knots you'll probably never need any others. :)
- Agree on the Clinch Knot and use it but, was raised with the Palomar. Link that Zara Pup gave ya', in my opinion be about the best one for learnin' knots and the easy way of tyin' them ie., it's animated ;)... < ' ( (( > <
- Universal or Uni-Knot. Double Clinch Knot.
- Double uni knot for joining two pieces of line together. Simple blood knot for hooks to line. nice and simple
- if you are fishing in freshwater, you should use the improved clinch knot. its easy to remember, quick, and it holds up to snags and fish extremely well. i dont use any other knot
