  3. We have had a lot of snow this year so the water may still be high in June / July. I highly recommend fly fishing in in the area around Estes. There is limited fishing in town, but Rocky Mountain National Park is full of wild trout. I am not stretching the truth at all saying that I have had 60+ fish days, all on dry flies. That includes time to eat and watch the moose! Most fish will be relatively small (under 14") but the scenery is great. This is also one of the only places in the world you can catch (and release) Greenback Cutthroat trout. The best fishing will involve a hike but it is well worth it. In my experience the larger fish are in the back-country lakes. If you have to stay in town Lake Estes is stocked and the fishing can also be good below the dam in The Big Thompson River. You should at least visit a fly shop to get current conditions and what is working. If you don't fly fish now is the time to learn. I use Kirks Fly Shop in Estes http://www.kirksflyshop.com/ but I haven't heard anything bad about any of the others.
