  1. After fishing all day, stop at the fish store on the way homw and buy some.
  2. Senko. Fat Ika. Drop shot rig. Need I say more?
  3. plastic stuff if the water is deep; throw it out and let it sink then slowly slowly reel it in. SLOWLY!
  4. you could try fishing the swimbaits like Huddlestons and Rago trout baits .If thats not your cup of tea I'd reccomend trying baits like Senkos w/out weight ,Texas rigged plastic worms ,or dropshotted 4'' worms like roboworms ,in colors like Aarons magic and Mararita mutilator 3.theres alot of people fishing the jig and pig.check out assault jigs they make some good colors for cali .grape/brown works well for me.sometimes if you have a boat you can try using spoons for deep bass, good electronics will help you find the deeper water schools.
  5. I like to use a football head jig and pig. Senkos without weight is good too. Whatever you choose be sure to work it slow and make multiple cast to the same location. The fish are sluggish and not active so you have to provoke them into a bite. Fishing deeper holes and around hot water discharges will be helpful also. Look for big piles of rocks, they can hold heat and the very back banks of secluded coves can all be productive as well.
