Fresh water fishing in Florida?
Where is the party here in Florida? I want to go out and fish bass, carp, and catfish. What are some of the spots people fish in Central Florida? Thanks, But I dont eat fish so the bass, carp, or the cat fish dont have to be worry about being my dinner. I just do it for the fun factor and its relaxing. I like to fish carp and cat fish because they sometimes give a hell of a fight.

- For Bass: Okeechobee Farm 13. Estuary's of the St. Johns River. Carp is not targeted in Florida very seriously, (if at all). To be honest, I have found that GOOD catfishing is mostly in the North FL region. You CAN catch cats in most any central Florida lake/pond. The problem: Cats ,being bottom feeders, tend to ingest harmful levels of mercury, Etc. If you intend on eating catfish make sure your fishing a VERY "clean" sandy-bottomed, lake/streambed! If I were you, I would target springs, streams, & river systems ONLY for catfishing!
- Yeppers, nothing'll turn you off catfish like a mess of muddy tasting ones... ugh. For bass, nearly anywhere, you'll be amazed at some that I've seen come out of retention ponds, but to mention a few that Stop missed, stick marsh, Mullet lake area on the St. John's River, Lake Tohopla--- whatever, Lake Toho for people who can't speak Miccosukee or whatever language that one is... Carp? You mean those things they put in ponds to keep algae and vegetation down? Grass Carp? Fun to catch probably, find those in any subdivision.
