what length rod is better for bass fishing (or just fishing in general) 6' or 6'6"?

- Either one will do. You really want to go to a place like Bass Pro where they have poeple who know what they are talking about and are willing to share their knowledge. If you are not going to buy there you can always go in and milk info from their clerks. I have a 6' and a 6' 6" that I use for general fishing and a 7' that I use for catfish and other larger species
- The length of rod is not the better or best for fishing for bass it would be for the uses as in ways or style of fishing for them! IE: pitchin,flippin,wormin,jiggin,spinnerbaitin,crankin........!
- 6 inches isn't going to make much difference anyway
- I'd go with 6'6" if I could only have one rod on the trip. If i had several to meet different applications that would be better. And although im a baitcaster fan, if I had just one rod- should be a spinning outfit.
- either one
- personal opinion i fell that the 6' gives you better feel
- A 6'6" is a great multi purpose rod but there are instances where a shorter rod will give you more control making far more accurate pinpoint casting easier. I have found that a 6'3" rod is a great trade off between switching back and forth from 6' to 6 1/2' rods. Really it's a matter of preference. For flipping a 7'6"-8'6" rod is generally used for this technique.
- either will do fine i have used both an neither out performs the other.
- I pefer a 6'
