Fishing Q&A

FISH OIL and FISH in general; good or bad for the HEART?

I've just come across this online: http://healthfullife.umdnj.edu./archives/fish_oil_archive.htm I thought it was proven that Omega and whatever other fish oils were really good for the heart!!! Is it just the opposite? Lately I've noticed that today they might tell you a certain food or product is the best you can take for disease prevention, a couple of months later they come back telling you it is quite the opposite! Personally have you had any benefits (especially for the heart), with fish or fish oils?

  1. The people in the test experiment were given SYNTHETIC fish oil. Do keep that in mind. Omega 3 I believe helps regulate heart beat and that is definitely a good thing.
  2. it's good for you...very good for you.
  3. Fish oils are miraculous, besides having improved my skin tone, eye color, and hair, they're great for fat loss, and it's a healthy fat which means yes, it is good for the heart, and brain, and any article or person telling you otherwise is simply wrong in my opinion. The ones you'll find in most stores are low quality, and I would recommend taking 2x the recommended serving. Take them w/ food, or else your body will use them for energy. Fish Oils + Olive Oils are gifts of Nature.
  4. It depends on the fish oil...I have lowered my blood pressure taking fish oil. You have to be careful because now some of the fish oil makers are putting vegetable oil in their capsules. Unfortunately, cost is the best way to tell if you have a good fish oil or not, the one I take costs around $27.00 a month, but it is worth its weight in gold. I am now off my blood pressure meds.
