TROUT Fishing in Ontario, Canada?
Are there and good place left to go fishing for trout in central or southern ontario? I know that fishermen don't like to give up their secret spots but if anyone is willing to share a general area I would greatly appreciate it. Paticularly rainbows are of interest. I grew up in central Ontario but have not been trout fishing in a long time.

- yes, there are
- Some trout streams are, the Niagara, the Rapids on the St. Mary's and the Nipigon, home of the world record Brook Trout. Also the Grand river ,and Conestogo rivers
- I would suggest picking up the MNR guide to stocked lakes. It will tell you how many fish were stocked in each lake every year. For the best fishing, choose a lake that is small and had a lot of fish put into it 3 or more years ago. I'm from northwestern Ontari, so i'm not sure what they stock down south. Up here is mostly brook trout, but also rainbows, splake and some lake trout. If you can't find the book, call the MNR and ask. Oh yeah, one good thing about stocked lakes are that you don't need to feel bad about keeping your limit! Delicious!
- I'm not sure, but I hope your using gang hooks. They're great for trout fishing....http://www.jrwfishing.com/gang_hooks.asp
