Crappie Fishing?
The local papers around here (southeast florida) have been saying the speck have been going crazy around certain spillways. I have a general idea on what bait and gear to use but i never really fish for em. Do they hit all day? Best bait for them? Should i use small hooks with a splitshot or no? Places you would normally find them. We call em speck around here. There was some confusion in my last question. Any Tips are appreciated. Thanks -Adam

- Iuse jigs with multi rigs so i have at least 2 some times 4 going at once . differnt colors for the water . all the same size though small or what you can do is tie a fly on the front your line and then put a holua popper in the rear with a 2 ft in between the so you can get the fly out far on a cast and if anything big is lurking about bass you have a great shot at that also good luck
- I always had my best luck with casting a 1/16 or smaller Mr Twister, or 1.5" Canadian Wiggler a cork and 1/32 hair jig - best when there is a bit or ripple to make the cork bounce and give the jig some motion. Have fun. Todd
- Left some info., on your previous post ;)...
- speck bite mostly at dosk and dawn their are lots of ways to fish for them this is my favorite get a popping cork with rattlers and let about 2-3 ft of line below it then get a hook a little bigger than a quaretr and tie it on get a live shrimp and hook it through the head but be careful not to hook the brain (little black thing) pop the cork every 7 sec or so also try a johnson sprite reeled very slowly
- try the old fashion way,minnows #6 hook,and a cork.small sinker.
