Fly fishing.?
How do you fish with a Griffith's Gnat or any other gnats.

- they tend to be wet flies, meaning that you let them go underwater. I don't weight flies like that, but they do sink some.
- I use a Griffith's Gnat tied as a dry fly. Hook: Size 14 to 24, Dry Fly Thread: Black 8/0 Body: Peacock herl Hackle: Grizzly from the bend of the hook to the eye. This fly represents chironomids that are hatching. Is suggests a midge or group or pod of midges clustered together. Using a light leader and tippet, cast the fly to rising fish or you can cast it to the edge of reeds. Let the fly sit a bit, then gently twitch it a few times. Strip it back to you a few feet, pick up the line, air dry with a few false casts and lay it out again. Very effective for rising or slurping fish. Larry
