fly fishing?
do you case in to the holes
Public Comments
- normally in a small stream you would cast above the holes or whirpools(eddy's), and let the bait float over.....
- best if the fly drifts through the hole cst up stream and let the current do the work
- that depends on where you are fishing and how muchroom you have. Normally you would cast above the hole and let your bate float over, however if it is slower moving stream, cast right into the hole. The fish hit at such a fast pace some times. Even still, a fish will follow your fly out of the hole so be prepared.
- Yes.
- i always approach the hole from the downstream section. if the fish are not spooked they tend to lay in the bottom, shallow section of the pool and will move to the deeper parts when they are threatened for safety. you also have to watch your shadow as it will stretch across the hole and disturb anything laying in the shallow parts of the hole. using short casts when you approach will give you more control and you should systematically cover the water as you work your way up. tight lines.
- Most productive spots are at the beggining of a hole, and the end of of the hole. Where you cast depends on where you approach from, room, and fly type.
