I'm going ice fishing.... Any suggestions or tips on the topic. I am going for pike, perch, and crappie.?
1. Any tools to bring. 2. Ice rods and tip ups? 3. Baits? 4. Techniques? 5. Timing? P.S. I am going to Lake George 6. Any other things that I can't think of at the time.

- YES----Make sure the ice is thick enough
- how about an auger, a strainer spoon for getting the slush out... I assume you know to put dacron line on the tip up.... you will also need a clip on weight to clip on the hook to find the depth........then you can figure out how far to raise the minnow off the bottom...... techniques? minnows a couple feet off the bottom.... timing....these days probably the end of January...... you will need an oversize Snow-mobile suit, cleats for your boots and some warm mittens....there are these fake fur lined mittens with the outside rubberized with a heavy sand type texture.......once your hands get wet and cold its downhill from there realistically if you don't have any equipment yet, it may be cheaper to go to a guide service try Adirondack Champlain guide service up in willsboro, NY.......you can run into the lodge if you get cold and warm up versus running to your cold car........
- Do some fly fishing o,k. and good luck to you o,k.
- What I like to do is use tip ups.I like to set the tip ups near a weed bed using a minnow ,in the winter it does not matter if its alive or dead. The pike lay in the weed beds and look for prey.
- Underwater camera. I didn't use it personally, but from others, that work great.........
- the #1 lure i use to catch trophy size pike and perch is the rapala jigging rap in the color glow firetiger
- Bundle up warm, take lots of beer, and be patient. Have fun.
