what is the best bait to use bass fishing off the shore?

- live minnows
- Plastic worms. Use a texas rig if you know how and throw around stumps, lilly pads, docks. Fish it slow. When you feel a tug wait a bit......then set the hook.
- I have caught more fish with my Chatter bait,
- Well there are alot of variables to your question.... water temperature, clarity, depth, stream or pond/lake..... but here are my top three.... Grape soft plastic worm... usually a curl tail... and rigging depends on those above variables. Buzz baits and spinner baits.... with a slow retrieve.... and a nice trailer never hurt anything.. And top water poppers and hard baits.... poppers for the noise and spooks and torpedos for good action
- White spinner bait. Easy to work a shore line with and bass really will go after them.
- I have always had luck with a little white lizard (artificial)
- Tcat has the best answer already, he's pretty quick on the draw.
- I agree with tcat, and bmck33. tcat has the correct answer. He has hit the nail on the head.
- I like to c-rige a 8 or 6" black worm. work it real slow. you will fill a tug on your line let the fish run then set the hook. This is a slow way tho fish but is very good.
