  1. I do a little bass fishin when nothing else is biting. I'd rather fish for something that I'm gonna take home and eat. But when fishing for bass Jumbo nightcrawlers always seem to work the best. Although last week when I was out just for the hell of it I threw on a leech and caught a 14inch small mouth, so not too bad. As for a rod I have a Gander Guide Series which is fine for now but eventually I'm going to go with a St. Croix. As they're the best and if you break it the replace it for free. Friend of mine purposly breaks his every couple of years just to get a new one.
  2. Spinning reel, medium action, 6-6.5 ft. rod. White H&H spinnerbait. Gets 'em every time.
  3. Spinnerbaits with a Colorado Blade. Either Chartuese or Red n Black in color. My second favorite are speed crankbaits. I like to cover alot of ground fast and see whats here or there, weather it be looking for cover or fish. It helps give me a great idea of where the fish might be and later on and I can come back to the spot with something slower, like a rattletrap or spinnerbait. My thrid favorite is a plastic worm. I have about 20 different colors/shapes/sizes. But my favorite color of a plastic worm would be one of the three: Red Shad, June Bug, or Tequlia Runrise. All my rods and reels are the same, I use Mitchell reels 6.1.1. ratio with a med-action berkely rod. I might have one reel that has bigger line then 12 lb test on it, but I don't think I do.
  4. My favorite fishing is with spinner baits and topwaters for bass..I find pflueger and abu garcia spinning reels to excell with a medium weight and speed rod of any type nearly..
  5. i use plastics and an open face reel those seem to work the best
  6. I use what ever it takes to catch the Bass...Spinner baits, plastic, jigs, buzz baits, etc. Right now in my part of the world most of the fishing is done at night...so I have mainly been fishing black/blue jigs, 10" Blk/blu flk power worm, or a 1/2 oz. single Colorado blade spinner bait. Favorite Spinning rod is a G.Loomis -6' 8"- MossyBack - BSR852 w/ a Shimano Stradic MgFA - ST2500MgFA spooled with 10# Sunline Shooter flourocarbon line. Have 2 others on my boat as well. My other Spinning rods are Falcon 6'-8" M with Shimano Stradics spooled with either 6 or 8# line, I also carry 5 extra spools for these reels, spooled with differant weight lines. Favorite Bait Caster is a Powell- 7'-0"- 704 C Ex-Fast w/ a Abu Garcia - REVO - SX, spooled with 14# Vicious Copolymer Clear Blue Fluorocarbon line. But I have 9 others on my boat rigged in different ways. Other rods are either H & H - 7ft. Med or MH action with Diawa X reels or Falcon 6'-8" MH one has a Pflueger President and one has a Supreme other Falcon Rod has a Daiwa Zillion 100SHA all spooled with 14# line. One H & H 7 Ft. M cranking rod with a Diawa spooled with 10# line for deep cranking, two other rods are spooled with 12# line. THese rods stay in my boat and go every trip, used or not, that way I always have a back up if something goes wrong wtih another one. That is not counting all the other gear you can get in a 20 ft Triton....Floating Tackle store...LOL
  7. Well I mostly fish from the bank for bass. I use a medium action spinning rod and light line as possibly so I can cast smaller lures well. I usually fish with smaller lures because I fish pressured water. I like soft plastics like Culprit 7.5 inch worms . Or Senko worms rigged wacky style with no weight and a size 1/0 hook . . I also like Topwater lures when conditions are right . I have had a lot of luck this year with a Heddon Spittin Image popper for bass. Here is a picture of a bass I caught the other evening and a picture of my simple cheap spinning rig.I was using 5 inch Senko's it was my second time using Senkos I really like them. http://i10.tinypic.com/6cmr3q0.jpg I keep things simple as possible for bass fishing . I use what I know the fish will bite or what I catch the most fish on .
  8. crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and swimming minnows. baitcasting. i mainly pond fish since i live in BFE missouri
  9. Here is an excellent site with some wonderfull options for you.
  10. Bass is phishing at Giverny at Lower Normandy and Annie Lennox is on a tour of duty with Sting and may put anon singing performance - and anyone caught doing an impersonation of an impressionist called Bass are phishing on the right - wrong - up your blouse sunshine - witch sand-witch do you like ? because wrong make a right turning and put your welly boots on - because there are certain muscal jokers who may find they have a 15 months to a 10 month Term on a diet of porridge and that is not a cruise on the QE2 hummer - smile next time you go Phishing for Bass because right now you are on candid camera and some guy called Ernest Hoschede is a patron of the arts and is a very nice man and his heart is in the right plaice - pelts are flying off the platter in hells kitchen with the burning man of the red tape - musical joke ? clueless ? why is there an apple in the kitchen wearing an apron ? does he pre-pear apple juice or what treat does a Bass do tonite ? - break eggs before breakfast ? -ok - you have a nice day hummer.
  11. I really don't have a favorite rod and reel type, I use both. My favorite way to fish is dragging the bottom with a jig or a plastic worm.
  12. If you want to know just about anything to do with fishing, then this website is one of the best I have seen. Loads of good articles which you can read or listen to. I seem to recall that they also offer a very good free report as well. It's well worth paying them a visit at http://www.fishinginformationguide.com . I would be interested in hearing what you think.
  13. My favorite style is what i catch the most bass on. So I use a pflueger trion reel with 8lb test, 6'6" All star med/heavy action rod. This combo gives you great control of your lure, and allows for an easy pitch along brush and tree lines, really puts the lure where you want it. And its just a great ALL AROUND set-up that you can switch to many different types of lures. I really get bored easily, so I like to use soft plastic 4" zoom lizards in a watermelon/red flake color. Texas rigged with a 1/0 hook. you can not work this lizard wrong, fast, slow, weightless, or on the bottom, I have caught more fish with this set-up. I also like the new 3"-4" tubes, put a ball rattle inside, and rig it carolina or texas, slow pumps to get the rattle working and just let it glide back down towards the bottom. watch your line where it goes into the water, not your rod tip, as soon as you see it move any direction set the hook your on!! White works great in any weather condition. 1/0 hook also, weightless, it swims like nothing i ahve seen. LURES- Bomber fat free shad in bass color, stop and go retrieve. Lucky craft "sammy" is really good early or even at night, but not good during the day. eakins jigs are really hot lures right now if your fishing around structures on the bottom. They are a little difficult to fish with if your new to jig fishing, but they do work GREAT! Good Luck!!
  14. i prefer a watermelon red baby brush hog or junebug with chartruse tails. hook it up with a 3/16 bullet weight and a 3/0 wide gap worm hook (red) weedless. and throw it as close to the tule or weeds as possible. or a watermelon red senko wacky style. if you have alot of boat traffic try fishing deeper like 15-25ft.
