- too numerous to list them all on here go to basspro.com or cabelas.com and compare
- All rod company's make several sizes in several styles. A good durable rod that has worked for me without costing to much is a Shakespeare Ugly Stick between 6' to 7' . Fifty dollars should cover the rod, tax, and maybe a lure or two. Good luck.
- I have had great success, with a Bass Pro Shops rod. Tourney special, 7', medium action model # TYS70MS-2 @ $ 49.99. I have caught numerous bass, over 5# with them, including 1, that weighed 8# 7oz
- Hi, I would have to say your budget wll limit you off course, but it all would depend on the type of cover your fishing, types of baits or lures you fish, type of line as well as your own personal feel. Heavier rods are required when fishing in heavy cover such as lilly pads, deep diving crankbaits require a heavier rod as well, and then the handle and grip of the rod must feel comfortable as well. I would take into consideration where your going to spend most of your time fishing, look at the cover, type of lure or bait and average size of fish. With that in mind you can take a look at almost any sporting goods store offline or online and find what you need, but $50 may require you to look for a good deal.
- the tourney special is a nice rod. but bass pro has its bionic blade on sale for 49.99. a much better rod for the money. also if your looking to fish worms, jig or heavy cover you better go with the medium/heavy action rod. the medium action rod would be good for crankbaits and rattle traps.
- dude i what i usually do is watch bill dance outdoors or tha other guys they usually have good products. that or go to academy. or cabelas. or sumthin. but in my opinon i like a medium heavy 6 foot rod shakespear or uglystick.
- Bass Pro has so many different rods to choose from you couldn't believe. I have found one rod that pretty much fits my needs. For the money.. it is very hard to beat the Berkly Lightnin Rod. I use 6ft. Med. Heavy action rods. The 5 1/2 ft. rods are also great. Wal-Mart or Bass Pro...anyone should have them. Depending on the type of lures you use,, you may want the lighter action tips. Those are best for crank bait fishing. Good luck in your search
- For some stupid reason, every time I see this type of question here, I see someone...usually many people say an Ugly Stick. WHY??!!?? They SUCK!!!!! Someone mentioned a Bass Pro Tourney or the Bionic Blade...both rods I would buy in a heart beat, especially over an Ugly Stick. They are in your price range as well. I prefer Falcon, but they run $115-$140. Stay with at least a Medium Heavy, 6'6" to 7' rod. Get a somewhat fast tip, but not too fast and you can fish several techniques with one rod.
- u want a long rod for bass so probily a 7 footer and u want madium weight rod just in case that big one comes.
- I asked the same question a few months ago on BassinTips.com forum, ended up getting 7' & working great so far!
- Spend more and get a Falcon in whatever size and action feels best and suits you needs. If you are unsure go to a sporting goods store and handle them.
- I am a big fan of Ugly Stick and Shakespeare rods and for $50 you could probably find a half way decent rod in those brands for that.
