When bass fishing with preserved shad.........?

What type and size hook do you use?, also what part of the fish do you hook through? The shad are all about 5" in length. I will be fishing for largemouth bass.

1. size 3/0 to 5/0 kahle hook just behind the front of dorsal fin under a cork and slowly twitch the bait.
2. for bass fishing i always use 5 alt hook.it catches the small 1 pounder's and the bucket mouths.and always hook your shad just under the dorsal fin so it looks natural.
