What are the best Bass fishing spots near Philadelphia, PA?

I reside in University City and am looking for some good Bass fishing spots. Can either be Largemouth or Smallmouth bass.

1. I'm from South Jersey and don't know how far you're willing to drive, but if you're looking to stay near the city why not try the Delaware? You won't catch many smallies, but I've seen many people catch largemouths in the coves, creeks and tributaries. Also, you may want to consider fishing for hybrids which are exactly that: a hybrid mix of white bass and striper. These guys can give you one heck of a fight and are pretty abundant in the Delaware. The tackle is quite similar to that for largemouths so you won't need to spend a fortune but you may want to go with a heavier rod and reel combo on the big river.
