- I have never even heard of anyone doing that. I think it would be interesting to see though.
- No, but I did see it on America's Funniest Home Videos. I have used a kite to take bait out much farther than I could cast. It's a fairly common method for fishing in the ocean.
- Haha That sounds awesome. Too bad I dont know anyone with a remote control boat.
- No! I have not, but I'm sure that it would be fun to do someday with the kids that I spend time with sometimes. I sure that they would love to see a boat being pull under by a fish. Thanks for the tip.
- I have never heard of anyone doing that. You would need a pretty sturdy boat to make it work though. I could see a 3 or 4 lb bass sinking most remote control boats I have seen. Additionally, even if the fish isn't big or strong enough to sink the boat, it would probably be strong enough to pull the boat out of range of the remote control. The kite idea for dropping baits long distances is one of the most ingenious thinks I have ever heard of. I would be curious to hear how it worked. As a fisherman and kite enthusiast, I may be stealing that idea as some point in the future. I think you would have better luck using the boat for something like that rather than actually landing a fish.
- I have heard of the kite thing but never seen it. I have seen people tie a ballooon on the line so the tide would take the bait further out. (They were fishing for big sharks)
- No i have not. But i did see someone using an RC boat as a way to "cast" at specific location ... the sinker sits on the boat and once the boat gets to it's location the dude yanks the line lightly to let the sinker fall off and then he will retrieve the boat ... while this guy is doing this everyone else is bringing in fish ..so i dont know if it's practical....
- I never have but this guy at a lake i use to go to had a radio controlled boat with a lure running behind it. Whenever a fish would would bite it it would trigger a flag on the boat to stand up and the guy would bring his boat back in with the fish.
- no it might work i have heard of when people do that but use a fishing rod.
- i dont know.but that sounds like something i would do. so i`ll try that. thanks
- You're gonna need a bigger boat. a quote from JAWS 1975
