Does anyone know if/how you can customize a small fishing boat?
I want to get a 14' aluminum fishing boat. The problem is that most seem to have 3 bench style seats. I would like to remove these "benches" and put in a plywood floor, then mount seats on posts, add a livewell, and some other misc. bins. I have absolutely no Idea how or if this is even possible. ANY help at all will be appreciated. Websites would be awesome, or if you've done something like this and don't mind getting a million questioning emails, leave your address! Thanks so much, and tight lines this summer!

- Seriously... consider buying a boat closer to what you want. OR... buy an open (empty) boat and build it up. It'll be cheaper in the long run and allow more mods in keeping with your ideas. It makes no sense to un-build a boat only to re-build it.
- The beauty of an aluminum boat is that it is light weight and does not need a HUGE engine to go fast, less maint. simple design, you are kind of defeating it's design, the bench seats provide much side support as well, in short, it will now be a small "TUG", it's kind of like putting a Rocket on a horse and wagon to make it go faster.
- You can, we added a large Sun Tarp, it looked great. These tarps are light weight and don't affect the safety of the boat. I would be careful with adding wood to the floor of an aluminum boat, it may cause a problem. Why not buy a fiberglass boat, they are much better then aluminum. We sold our boat, because it was back breaking work to launch it. It was so much easier while we lived near the coast.
