  1. what ever you do do not watch Mr. dance unless you fishing a hatchery (LOL) most bass clubs have draw tournaments E.g. boater & non boater do that for a year or two then watch and learn most will give advice through out the day bonuses you'll will most like ly make a friend ,way cheaper than a guide or even a class and if luck is on your side that day might take home a pay check!
  2. Go to several different marinas. Talk to those who work there. Don't be intrusive because they might be busy. They know at the marina, just have to talk to folks at a few marinas to get a clear overall picture minus the junk talk.
  3. You are embarking on an exciting and rewarding sport. I thoroughly recommend it to you. I can tell you about specific types of boat fishing, but for a general overview have a look at these websites :- www.worldseafishing.com www.anglersnet.co.uk www.totalseaangler.com They will give you a good outline to this facinating sport, but, without a specific sea fishing question to answer, I would like to sound one warning note. Seafishing from a small boat is very dangerous. You must get very good training in boat handling, tides and currents and sea survival equipment, but MOST IMPORTENTLY OF ALL the weather. All of this is available on the http://www.rya.org.co.uk website and you can find your local training centre. Tight lines Bigpathome.
  4. Sea Fishing in a small boat is a bit dangerous, regardles of which part of this wonderful earth you are. We need to consider SAFEty measures when we go out there at big SEA you never know what is down there you may hook a big one or little tiny "nemo"hehehe. Most probably consider a small boat to safer fishing ground..If its small boat like 17feet below dont dare to go out...start & enjoy fishing safely..
  5. If you consider bay fishing part of the sea, you will be fine. If your going out into the ocean in a small boat. You better know exactly what your doing, pick a very calm day, know how to get back with a compass or gps, and have a radio in case of emergency. And you better have a very reliable boat. You wouldn't want it to break down in the middle of the ocean. Ive gone about 5miles offshore in my smaller 18ft bay boat, not the smartest thing to do, but it is fun. I wouldn't reccommend doing it at all, unless you know exactly what your doing. And if your on yahoo asking about it, your not ready to take a small boat into the ocean. Hire somebody who has a boat and knows the area and what not.
  6. In FLA people who want to ocean fish and can't afford a large boat usually fish from Sea Kayaks and large canoes right off the beach. Trolling for Kings & "whatever" 150-200 Yards off the beach in a Sea Kayak is exciting and fun. It can be dangerous, but hopefully you can swim the length of a football field in warm water? Make sure to go on super-calm days. Wear a life-preserver, Etc, Etc, Etc. There are tons of web-pages on Kayak fishing. Google "Sea Kayak fishing". Good luck!
  7. what country are u in if u are in the uk then i reccomend u buy the boat fishing monthly magazine or in the states they must have something like that
  8. There's a mag called Boat Fishing Monthly you can get in big newsagents. That tells you everything about reviews on good boats around the UK, which bait to use, how to bait up - everything. It's only a couple of quid. Try reading that. Loads of good advice that you can refer to whenever you want. It has pages on starting out and the names of different Skippers/boats round the UK. There's also sometimes freebies on the font too! It's good fishing from parts of Wales and Essex. It depends on what you want but the Skipper of the boat will give you advice if you tell him you're new to it.
  9. not sure where you are from but i would recommend going on an open party sportfishing boat a couple times first and get an idea of what fishing from a boat is like. once you are ready, most tackle shops have fishing maps that show fishing "hotspot" locations to get you started.
  10. A GOOD PLACE TO GO DEEP SEA FISHING IS THE SEA OF CORTEZ IN THE GULF OF CALIFORNIA.
