- Anything with bright colours and big. Those fish are aggressive!
- I think you'd have a heck of a fight on your hands is your landed a pike *i am assuming you are talking Northern Pike*. Fly fishing is for Trout and fish like that. Get a 15 lb pike on that fly rod and you might just break it. Use a regular rod with about 15 lb test. I always used Daredevils and the pike ate them up. If you can, Leeches are good live bait to put on the lure. Another, which I doubt you will find, are Walleye gullet. When I fished in Canada, the pike tore it up. The gullet is that fleshy piece under the jaw. You hook it through the cartilage. Its not unlike a Split Tongue Eel Pork Rind bait.

- First things first, wire shock leaders. You'll need 'em. Try here: http://www.hookhack.com/leaders.html Then give these folks a look-see: http://www.pikeonthefly.com/ http://www.yagersflies.com/pike-flies.html If you're going to make this a regular pursuit, I highly recommend Beefus and Berryman's "Pike on the Fly". http://www.amazon.com/Pike-Fly-Flyfishermans-Northerns-Muskies/dp/1555661130 Tight lines!
