- Luhrs. Actually, I don't know if they still make small boats. That last one I was on was a 32'. They are not top of the line if you want a yacht, but thay make a good fishing boat. Only thing to watch out for is the smaller ones have a large engine cover over the single screw engine right dead smack in the middle of the best fishing space. (Over the stern and sides.) No room to really move to fight a big fish.
- I would say go for a Boston Whaler. if you saw this boat in half each piece still floats and this could be handy if you smash into something several miles out at night. Their electrical systems are great. They don't look too sporty but they are workhorses and highly thought of. Most buy these for fishing. If you would like to register your boat in Panama check out this website : http://www.panamalaw.org/panama_vessel_registration.html
- There are a wide variety of choices in this area: Boston Whaler Mako Pursuit I think the Pursuit used to make a very nice model called the "Walk Around." It was a nice design from the standpoint of combining "fishability" with livable amenities. Have fun with the boat search!
