Buying a boat?
Looking for a ski and fish boat such as the Glastron Ski and Fish lines. I want more of a sport boat than a fishing boat, and something with a lot of versatility. Any opinions on the glastrons? What are some other comparable boats that I should consider? Need something with the capability of turning into a fishing boat or a ski boat quickly.

- glastrons arent bad boats for what you're looking for, something else to look for is any runabout class boat, which are what you're looking for your best bet is to find a runabout with an outboard engine, that way you can adjust your power for what you want to use it for the most
- we bought a 1976 glasspar with a 135 evinrude last summer just to see if we was " boat ppl " but turnes out we love it only pd 1100.00 for it looks great and runs super pulls a tube , knee board , skii, and fish and just idle around we are also a family of 6 ( 4 kids ) it is a tri hull we are thinking of upgrading to a newer one in a year or 2 check out the boat trader magz...
- A boat is a boat--throw a line over and you are fishing--throw some rope over and you are skiing. If the boat is fast enough to ski behind--then what else do you want?? All boats are about the same---don't be fooled by high cost and a lot of sh--ty extras that you don't need.
- We use a Glastron 185 Ski&Fish on Lake George. My bro-in-law & I go fishing in the early morning. The Mercruiser I/O moves us at a smooth 25 -30 mph to get around quickly. Bow & stern fishing seats on posts set up quickly and make for easy fishing. A trolling motor with foot controls enables us to maneuver through coves & small protected bays. We have caught literally thousands of bass from this boat since 2000. We return to our bay around 11:00 AM. By then the women & kids are ready to go tubing, skiing, etc. We replace the seats, attach a tow rope and rock n' roll. The Glastron handles well on a plane and is pretty easy on the gas. The boat is perfect for 2 people fishing or 6 - 8 people cruising to the islands up in the Narrows of Lake George. I recommend it as a good, all around useful boat.
